NIABY.com (Not in Anyone's Back Yard) would like to thank the residents around 41st and Fraser St., the site of the 1st large drug addict apartment building approved by City Hall. Fraser St. residents gave us some of their valuable time to be interviewed for this article. Their insights were invaluable in helping us understand what other neighbourhoods in Vancouver will be facing when addict housing is proposed for their own communities.
A special thank you to Catherine Powell whose Masters thesis "Special Needs Residential Facilities. Reflections on a Development Application." on the City of Vancouver website, has provided NIABY.com with an overview at how City of Vancouver residents will be manipulated and spin doctored by City Hall and their public relations consultants. In particular, the thesis called attention to how City Hall can manage the publication relations process to ensure approval for large addict apartment block housing in Vancouver's neighbourhoods based on what happened with the Fraser St. project.
NIABY.com welcomes your comments and suggestions.
