We would like to invite MLA Colin Hansen; Mayor and Councillors, Sam Sullivan, Suzanne Anton, Raymond Louie, David Cadman; the City of Vancouver Housing Centre's Cameron Gray; Jill Davidson, Social Planner for the City of Vancouver; BC Housing; Dr. David Marsh, Addiction Medicine Specialist, Vancouver Coastal Health; Linda Thomas, Vancouver Coastal Health; CARMHA (Centre for Applied Research in Mental Health and Addiction, SFU), CPHR (Centre for Population Health Promotion Research, UBC), Interior Health Authority, Providence Health Care, Vancouver General Hospital and any other "experts" to take our challenge!
This past year NIABY.com has been accused of being biased by selecting and choosing only medical literature that shows poor results on Supportive Housing for mentally ill drug addicts (or just drug addicts) with offsite community drug treatment.
The "experts" have told us there is "overwhelming evidence" to prove that Supportive Housing in large apartment complexes for mentally ill drug addicts is effective (defined as sustained abstinence, staying out of trouble and finding and keeping a job) and safe to the host neighbourhood. Yet you have failed to present any data supporting your opinion.
We invite you to show us these "numerous studies" which show effectiveness (sustained abstinence, staying out of trouble, and finding and keeping a job) of large Supportive Housing apartments for drug addicts and mentally ill drug addicts with off site community drug treatment.
Send us your studies and explain why you chose them. We look forward to receiving the many scientific studies showing the effectiveness of large (30 to 50 to 70 units) for mentally ill drug addicts and conclusive evidence that the safety and security of the host residential neighbourhoods in Vancouver will not be affected. We will post any studies showing effectiveness on this website.
Don't wait any longer - prove to the public their tax dollars are being spent effectively. Email us at info@niaby.com
