Dear Mayor Sam Sullivan and Council,
My mother, a senior who has lived in her home at ****** for 56 years, passed on information regarding the "Social Housing" proposal for drug addict rehabilitation at 16th and Dunbar. I am appalled that such a facility is being considered for this area. My mother was the victim of a home invasion last year, most likely related to drug addiction, and although she was not physically harmed, the psychological effects of this event still linger. What the neighbourhood needs is social housing related to seniors so that people like my mother, who have lived in Dunbar their whole lives, have a place to go when they are unable to live alone. I urge the mayor and NPA council to support the residents who voted for you in the last election and rejected the ideas proposed by the former Cope dominated council. I would like to be informed of any future proposed meetings and neighbourhood planning so that I may be an advocate for my mother.
